It seems that no matter what tradition you were raised in or what beliefs you hold, all around the world people who have virtually nothing in common set aside their busy lives and create time and space for whatever version of a family they have. For many, this may be the only time of year they share a meal or a conversation with the ones they travel to see. Still, this space is valued and protected each and every year - a time for stories, laughter, tears, songs, and prayers.

So whatever this season holds, and whoever you share it with, I hope that it brings peace, happiness, and a strong and lasting feeling of belonging.
